Clocks Fall Back November 1: What Time Should Your Bounce House Party Start in San Antonio?

Short answer: Start your party by about 1:00 or 2:00 PM. Daylight saving time ends Sunday, November 1, and San Antonio’s sunset jumps from about 6:48 PM to about 5:47 PM, then keeps getting earlier, to about 5:35 PM by the end of November. A 3 to 4 hour party that starts at 1:00 or 2:00 PM wraps up the bouncing in daylight, before the evening chill sets in. Planning something later? That can work too. Add lights or a lit tent to your booking and plan for the cooler evening. Contact us on the hero line at 210-255-9070 and we’ll help you plan the day.

Running the party after dark: what to know

A bounce house can still be fun after sunset if you plan for it. Use it after dark only when the area is well lit and an adult is watching. We don’t have a fixed cutoff time. The same weather limits apply at night as during the day: no setup below 40°F, with frost or ice, or in winds of 15 mph or more.

  1. Light the entrance and exit. Kids need to see where they’re climbing in and out. Point lights at the entrance, the slide exit and the shoe area, not into kids’ eyes. Don’t have lights? We rent lights and a lit tent. Just add them to your booking.
  2. Light the walkways. Steps, patio edges and the path to the bounce house are where people trip in the dark.
  3. Keep cords safe. Run extension cords where people don’t walk. The blower must stay indoors or under cover, like a patio, where it stays dry. No outlet near your party spot? We have generators available, so let us know when you book.
  4. No heaters. We don’t allow heaters at our inflatable setups.
  5. Keep an adult watching the whole time. It’s harder to see what’s going on inside after dark. Have one adult stay at the entrance and keep the little ones and the bigger kids taking turns.
  6. Watch the temperature and the dew. Evenings cool off fast once the sun goes down. We don’t set up below 40°F, and if it drops under that during the party, it’s time to stop. Dew can make surfaces slippery, so if the inside gets damp, everyone out and wipe it dry before bouncing again.
  7. Call it if the wind picks up. We don’t set up in winds of 15 mph or more. If the wind picks up during the party, everyone out and power off.

What about pickup?

We don’t charge an overnight fee. If your party runs late, the inflatable can stay overnight and be picked up the next day. That pickup doesn’t have a set time. If you need it picked up early, just let us know when you book.

Cooler evenings, wet yards and indoor options

November evenings in San Antonio can get chilly, and morning frost or ice means we don’t set up. We always consider weather and warmth when booking. We don’t send water units out in cold weather. If your date looks cold or wet, ask us about an indoor setup. We’ve set up in gyms and halls, depending on the size of the unit. If it rained before your party, see our guide to bounce houses on a wet yard.

If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we reschedule for weather-related cancellations at no extra cost with 48 hours’ notice.
